DePaul University’s Coleman Entrepreneurship Center is hosting the second annual Purpose Pitch Competition at 1871 to explore the ideas of purpose driven startups in Chicago. The Purpose Pitch will be a unique pitch session where startups pitch their greater purpose and how they plan to fulfill that purpose through their business objective, instead of pitching investors on the business itself.

We will narrow down the applications based upon the strength of their PURPOSE and viability of their business. The final four companies will have 5 minutes to pitch their purpose and business viability at 1871 on May 3, 2018 at 5:30pm in front of our DePaul Community and 1871 members.

Our judges will validate the positioning of the final four companies and their purpose by evaluating their presentation. The final four companies will be recognized as “Most Purposeful Startups in Chicago” in addition to sharing the $25,000 in award money to their company and receive additional media exposure.

We will also have a keynote speaker, to be determined, and a networking reception with food and beverage. We had over 300 people in attendance last year including students, faculty, staff, alumni, 1871 members and the DePaul community. It is a great way to wind up our school year and network with the DePaul and 1871 entrepreneurship community!

The Purpose Pitch is a pitching competition for purpose driven startups sponsored by DePaul University’s Coleman Entrepreneurship Center.
