This isn’t your typical sit-down gala. Guests can mix and mingle at this happy hour-style event while enjoying a silent auction, appetizers and drinks, including beer provided by Revolution Brewing.
This year's awardees are:
Ken Griffin — Community Leadership Award
Griffin generously donated $12 million to create separate bike/foot trails on the Chicago lakefront, bringing to fruition a much-needed improvement that Active Trans has sought for nearly a decade.
Expedia — Business Leadership Award
Expedia has participated in Active Trans' Bike Commuter Challenge for a number of years, providing creative incentives to get its staff biking and hosting what has consistently been one of the city's top Commuter Challenge pit stops.
Kelley, Drye and Warren — Volunteer Leadership Award
Kelly, Drye and Warren, LLC, is a full service law firm that has provided outstanding pro bono legal assistance to Active Trans for more than four years. The firm has given Active Trans expert advice on contracts, audits, liability waivers, human resources, policy research and more.
All proceeds will support Active Trans and their mission to create more sustainable, vibrant communities through improved biking, walking, and public transit.
