2. Behind Bitcoin: Why Your Cash Is Going Digital, by Joe Hernandez, Founder of the Chicago Blockchain Project

Thurs. 2/8, 6:00pm-7:00pm | Blockchain

The concept of money is vastly misunderstood in society. Following the financial crisis in 2008, bitcoin was created in an attempt to use technology to improve the cash systems of today. In order to understand what the future of money will be, we need to ask a few questions. How is bitcoin money? How does this technology improve on past technology we have used to make money? What is the future of bitcoin? Is the real story bitcoin or blockchain?

3. Breaking Ice: Improving Inclusion at Work with Julie Felix, Mesirow Financial and Tom Alexander, 1871.

Julie Felix (Mesirow Financial) and Tom Alexander (1871) discuss strategies to infuse your workplace with more diversity and create a more inclusive environment. Participants in this workshop will hear techniques, specific ideas and case studies about different ways to craft a more welcoming environment at your company.
