This event has ended.
Our panel discussion, moderated by WIPP President Jane Campbell with Chicago Treasurer Kurt Summers invited to participate, will cover the relationship between venture capital and women business owners—particularly focusing on how to encourage venture capital investment in women, the process of lending for SBICs, and how women business owners can approach venture capitalists.
This topic is particularly timely because women business owners are facing a crisis in capital. Women receive only 4% of all commercial loan dollars and less than 10% of all venture capital funding.
We are assembling a strong panel to discuss these issues. The panel discussion will be followed by a networking event. We would love for you to join us!
Speakers Include:
-
Treasurer Kurt Summers, City of Chicago
-
Jane Campbell, President, WIPP; Director, Washington Office, National Development Council (NDC); and Former Mayor, City of Cleveland, OH
