Mayo Clinic’s Dr. James Levine, M.D. PhD. holder of the Richard Emslander Chairs in Nutrition and in Metabolism, and Mayo Clinic Professor of Physiology and Bioengineering. Levine is an international expert on obesity. In the United States, he was an invitee to the President’s Panel and the State Department. Internationally, he has consulted with governments around the world. His research has focused on approaches to help people become more active, decrease cardiovascular risk and become healthier.

After Dr. Levine’s presentation we invite you to stay for refreshments and to "test drive" a collection of the newest “NEAT” inspired “active furniture”. Dr. Levine’s presentation is FREE and open to attendees of NeoCon.  It is hosted by 1871 the Midwest’s largest Tech Incubator and home to Chicago’s brightest digital designers, engineers and entrepreneurs who are shaping new technologies including health sciences

Dr. Levine has developed multiple body-worn devices that measure physical activity and caloric intake, and the treadmill desk in collaboration with Steelcase Corporation. The author of the non-fiction work “Move A Little Lose A Lot,” he has published more than 150 articles on building effective solutions to obesity for adults and children His research has focused on approaches to help people become more active, decrease cardiovascular risk and become healthier.
