Job Search: The first question we've heard over the past month is always “where do I start?” You can only control what’s in your control, so just start moving forward, one foot after another.  The beginning of this workshop will focus briefly on what IS in your control and where to start with your search.

Harnessing the Power of your LI Profile:  Everyone knows they are supposed to be using LinkedIn. However, most people don’t know what they’re supposed to be DOING on LinkedIn. We’ll review how to connect, communicate, and collaborate on the platform to grow awareness and make sure you stand out. 

Prerequisites for the Workshop:  You should have a LinkedIn Profile.   

Workshop Outline
  • The first part of the discussion will revolve around the things YOU can control when starting a job search
  • The second part of the discussion will cover building your personal brand, how to polish your profile and present yourself appropriately, learn targeted ways to find and attract the right hiring managers and HR contacts and the etiquette on how to connect/network with them.


About Jeff Smith:

Jeff has 16 years of experience in recruitment strategy, program implementation, team management and full life-cycle recruiting within large, Fortune 500 companies as well as pure start up's (and everything in between).

I develop and execute strategic, large-scale recruiting, reorganization and employee re-branding programs.  I have created and installed numerous company-wide procedures, applicant tracking best practices, sales assessment tools and programs, including management interview training, employee referral programs, on-boarding and pulse-check procedures for new hires.  I care deeply about the candidate experience from start to finish and philosophically believe that recruiting can play a much more strategic role in building positive company brands hand in hand with enabling these companies to become integral parts of the communities they reside in.
