According to a poll conducted by KFF, nearly half of American adults surveyed reported that COVID-19 has had a negative impact on their mental health. Mental health crisis centers are also reporting increased call volume: In some regions, centers have seen an increase as high as 300 percent. At the same time — with offices closed — mental health resources are more limited and many people don’t know how to navigate the system.
On June 3, we’ll dig deeper into the mental health implications of of COVID-19, existing resources and how mental health startups can pivot to help in a conversation with Dr. Megan Jones Bell, Chief Science Officer at Headspace.
Launched in 2010, Headspace is a digital mental health company with millions of users in more than 190 countries. At Headspace, Megan leads the science team and two of Headspace’s businesses: Headspace for Work and Headspace Health. At the event, she’ll pull from her experience developing evidence-based interventions and working on clinical research studies to share mental health insights, the importance of meditation and mindfulness and how employers can support the wellbeing of their workers from home.
After the main program, Headspace will guide attendees through a short meditation.
